What is the GEAR UP Program? The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program is federally funded by the Department of Education. One Vision Partnership IV (OVP IV) is one of the GEAR UP programs that is administered by Washington State University Tri-Cities. OVP IV was approved in 2018 and is funded for seven years.
What does the GEAR UP programs provide? GEAR UP provides FREE services and support to the Class of 2023 and 2024 students to prepare for and succeed in high school, higher education, and their future. Some of GEAR UP’s services here within the Kiona-Benton City School District include:
- PSAT prep
- Parent outreach
- College/career/resource fairs
- Academic advising
- Summer camps/programs
Our GEAR UP staff look forward to working with you and your student to help ensure success in high school and beyond.
