Associated Student Body (ASB) Overview

The Associated Student Body (ASB) is the student organization which sponsors all student activities. The officers are elected by the student body at the end of the 1st semester, and will serve for two consecutive semesters. Listed below are the component groups of the organization.

The Classes:

Each class elects four officers. They are president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. These officers will be elected in the spring of the school year.

ASB General Council:

The ASB Council meets monthly during the school year. Meeting times rotate throughout the day. The General Council consists of one representative from each ASB recognized club and representatives from each class.

The council’s purposes, among others, are to adopt budgets, generate ideas and represent student’s views.

ASB Executive Council:

The ASB Executive Council includes the following positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Assistant Athletic Director. The President, Vice-President and Secretary are elected by the student body. The rest of the members are appointed. Where possible the ASB President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Assistant Athletic Director should schedule a free class period to use for ASB business. Fund-raising, promotion of school spirit and improvement of the relationship between the school and community are areas in which the council are active. ASB often takes more than one hour a day and persons interested should be willing to use their own time as well to be effective leaders.

ASB Cards:

The cost for an ASB Card is $35.00. The card admits the bearer to all home activities and entitles them to a reduced charge at away games and some ASB functions such as dances. The card is required for all students participating in any athletic program.
