Dual Credit

College in the High School classes are approved by a university and allow students to earn both high school and college credit.

Running Start courses offered by community colleges are open to 11th and 12th grade students for dual credit.

Advanced Subject Placement

A HiCap student or small group of students who have demonstrated achievement at a higher level than their same-age peers are placed into an appropriate grade level or into a content area at a different grade level.

Regular Classroom with Differentiated Instruction

HiCap students remain in their regular classroom after identification. Assessment data is shared with the classroom teachers to drive the learning opportunities for students. Curriculum and instructional strategies are differentiated to meet academic needs.

Part-Time Grouping

Students are provided time to meet with their intellectual peers before, during, or after the regular school day. Instruction provides special experiences which enrich the regular school program to accommodate the special educational needs of HiCap students.
